Ms. Master Cigar Sommelier


We talked with “Ms. Master Cigar Sommelier”, the Countess of Sperlinga, about learning how to pair gourmet products and about the value of education. Cigar smoking can remain a hobby and still offer you much more pleasure if you decide to learn alongside professionals, the sommeliers who learn to advance in their career. The discussion also showcases a great example of a woman in the cigar world who is not discriminated, but rather respectful and respected.

Danays León P. di Sperlinga was born and raised in Cuba. She co-owns Sperlinga Tobacco, is a Sommelier and Habanos Sommelier certified in Cuba, as well as Master Cigar Sommelier by the International Association of Cigar Sommeliers (IACS).
Danays is an associate professor, for the Branch School of the Ministry of Tourism in Cuba, for the courses of Sommeliers and Habanos Sommeliers. She is a Certified IACS Instructor and designated IACS Ambassador for Europe. Danays is also a collaborating writer for the Excelencias Gourmet magazine and for China Cigar Specialist.
